Terms of use.

These terms cover the Vell macOS app and optional Vell Cloud service.

The service

Vell converts audio into text. Transcription is probabilistic and can be wrong. You control where generated text is used.

Subscriptions

Vell Pro is an auto-renewing $8.99 monthly subscription billed by Stripe after a 14-day card-on-file trial unless canceled before trial end. Taxes may apply. You can cancel through the hosted billing portal; access continues through the paid period. BYOK and local modes do not require Pro. Refund requests are handled by Vell support and applicable law.

Fair use

Pro includes managed transcription subject to reasonable rate and monthly limits designed to prevent abuse and protect service quality. We may contact customers whose usage is unusually costly before changing access.

Acceptable use

Do not use Vell Cloud to violate law, infringe rights, evade limits, probe infrastructure, distribute malware, or process recordings you are not authorized to make.

Availability

Vell Cloud may occasionally be unavailable. BYOK and local modes provide independent alternatives.

Ownership and termination

You retain rights in your recordings and text. Vell retains rights in the app, site, service, and branding. We may restrict managed access for fraud, abuse, security risk, or material breach. Canceling Pro does not disable BYOK or local mode.
